Canadian photographer Benoit Aquin accepted the innaugural Prix Pictet award today recognizing outstanding photography showcasing the environment today in Paris. His series on the desertification of a vast region in China features images of the people, countryside and cities in a region in Northern China threatened by dust storms and loss of arable land.
