I change my mind about the Fujinon 55mm f/1.8

One thing I keep learning when adopting old gear is not to render judgment until you work with it for awhile. Earlier on I said that the Fujinon was just okay compared with my other 50mm primes and while that may be true, it isn't that much far off my Takumar which makes it pretty good.

Seen for sharpness, it is sharp enough (see the bw rose shot below). But I wasn't impressed until I got film back from shooting this flower at f/1.8. I love the bokeh (the out of focus imaging). Very delicate feathering when shot wide open. I probably needed to hold it a bit steadier for that shot to improve the sharpness of that shot but still nice bokeh is a quality I think every fine lens should have.
