There is another Lightroom update to version 2.4 that adds RAW support to various new cameras including a wackload of digital Hasselblads but also includes some minor fixes. According to the Readme it fixes problems with cropping and with DNG exporting not allowing certain metadata fields.

Workflow is pretty good now

Incidentally, my existing installation of Lightroom 2.2 is working pretty nicely after I went with the method suggested by Frank Roberts which was to keep my RAW files on my NAS but to use a catalog based on a local hard drive. In addition, I backup my catalog to my NAS so thereby satisfying my requirements for redundant storage.
