The Parade of Lost Souls Photobooth (2008)
Part of more than a hundred sidewalk portraits I made of costumers participating
in Vancouver's Parade of Lost Souls. Some thirty-thousand people in Vancouver's East Side follow a parade snaking
through the Commercial Drive neighbourhood viewing displays, performers, a carnival band and light shows.
In association with the organizers --
the Public Dreams Society -- I set up a photo booth along the main
gathering street and grabbed as many costumers as I could. Amazingly, I got a few nos and my assistant --
who was dressed as Stephen Harper -- was punched once, though not too hard. We were in Libby Davies'
(NDP) riding, after all.
